How to recruit from the Pool of Participants (Prolific)

There are two methods to recruit participants with Useberry: either by leveraging your own audience through the “Share Link,” which generates shareable links, or by sourcing participants from the “Participant Pool,” where you can use credits to purchase vetted, qualified participants. This article will focus on the latter—ordering participants from the Participant Pool.

Creating a target audience

Once your study is set up, navigate to the "Share" tab and click the "Recruit via pool" button.

After clicking the button, a target audience will be created with a “Draft” status, and a modal stepper will appear on your screen, guiding you through the following actions:

In the first step, you’ll name your audience, provide the study title, and include a brief description. You can also specify targeting devices—desktop, mobile, or tablet—and set the estimated time needed to complete the study. On the left side, you can enable features like Useberry Recordings, Video Shoots, and Session Recordings (deprecated). On the right side, you’ll find tools to track available participants and view the order summary.

The final step is the summary page, where you can review your credits, top up if needed by clicking the “Buy more” link, and launch your study with a single click.

Once your audience is launched, it will appear in the “Audiences” table with a “Live” status. From there, you can rename the audience, view the results, or pause it. If paused, you also have the option to close it. If the audience hasn’t collected all responses, any remaining credits will be refunded to the team balance.

Clicking on that audience will display two tabs: one for the collected responses and another for the audience information.
