At Useberry, we believe in empowering teams with actionable, data-driven insights to craft exceptional user experiences. Click Tracking is one of the most powerful tools we offer to help you understand exactly how testers interact with your digital products, optimize their journeys, and ultimately achieve outstanding results.
What is Click Tracking?
Click Tracking allows you to visualize and analyze tester interactions across your prototypes or designs. By monitoring where and how often users click, you can uncover patterns, identify friction points, and make confident design decisions backed by real behavioral data — not assumptions.
This feature is available for Single Task, 5 Second Test, First Click, and Open Analytics blocks.
How it Works
You can access Click Tracking by clicking on the "View Click Tracking" button inside a block. From there, you can define specific areas of interest on each screen that you want to closely monitor. Useberry then provides detailed metrics on clicks made within each selected region.
To focus your analysis, you can also apply filters and segments. This allows you to zoom in on particular user groups, behaviors, or conditions — helping you uncover unique insights and tailor experiences that resonate with different audiences.
Key Metrics at a Glance
When exploring Click Tracking, you’ll have access to valuable metrics, including:
- Number of testers who interacted with the screen
- Average time spent on each screen
- Total number of clicks
These metrics make it easier to understand user behavior at a glance and inform design improvements quickly.
Visualization Modes
Useberry offers two powerful visualization modes to help you make sense of click data:
Clicks
This view gives you a granular, per-element breakdown of every tester interaction. You can clearly see where each click occurred and analyze individual behaviors across your screens. This level of detail helps you understand which elements attract attention and which might be overlooked.
Heatmaps
Heatmaps provide a visual representation of click density across your screens. You can easily identify which areas receive the most interaction and which are less engaged. This high-level overview helps you quickly spot interaction trends and validate design decisions.
Both Clicks and Heatmaps can be downloaded for further analysis or for sharing with your team.
Benefits of Click Tracking
- Improve usability: Easily spot and fix usability issues to create a frictionless experience that keeps testers engaged and satisfied.
- Increase engagement: Learn exactly how users engage with different parts of your design and optimize accordingly to boost motivation and brand loyalty.
- Boost conversion rates: By understanding where users click — and where they don’t — you can simplify paths to key actions, reduce drop-offs, and improve conversions.
