No external editing tools needed, you just need to select the moment you want to save and you’re done.
How to create a new Highlight from the video bar
This guide shows you how to capture a specific moment from your video recording as a new highlight.
Steps
- Locate the starting point
Play the video or scrub the playback bar to the point where you want your highlight to begin. - Create highlight
Click the "Create highlight" button, which is located on the right side of the video bar. A new highlight creation panel will appear over. - Set the end point
Use the playback bar to drag the end of the highlight to the desired final moment of the clip. - Add Details
- Add a note: Use the "Add a note" field to summarize the clip's content or key takeaway.
- Add Tags: Click on Tags to select relevant existing tags or create a new tag.
- Add to Highlight Reel: Click on Highlight Reels if you want to group this highlight with others in a curated reel.
- Save the highlight
Click the "Save highlight" button at the bottom of the highlight creation panel to finalize and save your new highlight.
How to create a new Highlight from the transcription
This guide shows you the fastest way to create a highlight by selecting and clipping text from the recording's transcription.
Steps
- Locate the relevant text
Scroll through the transcription panel to find the specific spoken words or segment you wish to turn into a highlight. - Select the text
Click and drag your mouse to select the relevant block of text in the transcript. - Initiate highlight creation
An action menu will appear over your selected text. Click the "Create highlight" button in this menu. A new highlight creation panel will appear, with the video clip automatically set to match the start and end times of your selected text. - Add Details
- Add a note: Use the "Add a note" field to summarize the clip's content or key takeaway.
- Add Tags: Click on Tags to select relevant existing tags or create a new tag.
- Add to Highlight Reel: Click on Highlight Reels if you want to group this highlight with others in a curated reel.
- Save the highlight
Click the "Save highlight" button at the bottom of the highlight creation panel to finalize and save your new highlight.
How to edit an existing Highlight from the video bar
This guide shows you how to modify the duration, tags, or notes of an already saved highlight.
Steps
- Select a highlight
Locate and click on a highlight on the highlight bar directly above the playback timeline that you wish to edit. - Open the edit panel
Click the edit icon on the highlight menu to open the highlight edit panel over the video player. - Adjust the highlight duration:
- To change the highlight's start or end points, click and drag the left or right edges of the highlight bar in the player window.
- Edit note, tags or highlight reels:
- Edit the text in the "Add a note" field.
- Click on the Tags field to add or remove associated tags.
- Click on the Highlight Reels field to add or remove associated reels.
- Save the changes
Click the "Save highlight" button at the bottom of the edit panel to apply all your modifications.
How to edit a Highlight's duration using the transcription
This method allows you to precisely adjust the clip duration of an existing highlight by selecting different or additional text within the transcript.
Steps
- Select a highlight
Click & select a highlight from the transcription to open a menu over the highlight in order to edit or delete it. - Open the edit dialog modal
Click the edit icon to open the Edit Highlight dialog modal. - Adjust duration:
- With the Edit Highlight dialog open, look at the transcription beneath the video player. The text corresponding to the current highlight duration will be visually selected
- You can adjust the duration via text selection, click and drag to select the new, longer, or shorter range of text you want the highlight to cover. Or you can adjust it from the player bar at the top and this will automatically updated to match your new text selection.
- Edit note, tags or highlight reels:
- Edit the text in the "Add a note" field.
- Click on the Tags field to add or remove associated tags.
- Click on the Highlight Reels field to add or remove associated reels.
- Save the changes
Click the "Save highlight" button at the bottom of the edit panel to apply all your modifications.
How to edit a highlight from the left sidebar list
This is the standard method for managing a highlight's details, tags, and notes after it has been saved.
Steps
- Select a highlight
In the left sidebar panel, where you can view all the highlights for this recording, click on the highlight that you wish to modify. - Open the edit dialog modal
Click the edit icon to open the Edit Highlight dialog modal. - Adjust duration:
- With the Edit Highlight dialog open, look at the transcription beneath the video player. The text corresponding to the current highlight duration will be visually selected

How to view all Project Highlights
This guide shows you how to access the dedicated section where all highlights across a project's recordings are listed and managed.
Steps
- Click on the Highlights tab
When you are on a project (Unmoderated or Recordings) navigate to the left sidebar view, locate and click the tab "Highlights" - Review the list
The page will load a centralized list of all highlights that have been created and saved across all recordings within that specific project. - Highlight actions
From there you can preview, edit or delete of a highlight.
