This guide will walk you through how Useberry organizes your Workspace and Project types you can create.
Understanding Useberry’s architecture
Before diving into creating projects, it’s helpful to understand how Useberry keeps your research organized. The platform follows a structured hierarchy to help you seamlessly scale and collaborate with your team:
Account: Your main overarching profile on Useberry.
Team: Every account is associated with a Team (and you can belong to multiple teams).
Workspaces: Within each Team, you can create distinct Workspaces to segregate different clients, products, or departments.
Projects: Inside a Workspace, you build your specific UX research studies or repositories.
Versions: Each Project can have multiple structural variations or iterations, allowing you to test, tweak, and launch separate active links to your testers.
How to create your Project
Navigate to the appropriate Workspace inside your Team dashboard.
Click on New Project.

Choose your Project type:
Select Unmoderated Study to start building with Blocks or Templates.
Select Moderated Studies to kick off a moderated interview testing cycle.
Select Upload Recordings to import and analyze external user video files.
Name your Project, configure your first Version, and start gathering insights!
Project types
Depending on the insights you need and the methodology you choose, you can build your Useberry Project using one of three robust workflows:
Type 1: The traditional Useberry study (Unmoderated studies)
This is the classic, unmoderated way to collect rich UX insights asynchronously. You can design an interactive testing journey from scratch or hit the ground running with pre-built resources.
Build with Blocks (testing methods): Construct your study by stacking "Blocks" in any order you want. Each block represents a specific testing method tailored to target distinct user insights (e.g., Single Task for prototype navigation, 5 Second Test for first impressions, Card Sorting or Tree Testing for information architecture, alongside SUS Surveys and Demographics).
Save time with Research & Custom templates: Instead of starting from zero, you can browse a library of ready-made research templates optimized for various industry standards, or create custom templates to standardize studies across your team.
Type 2: Useberry Interviews (Moderated studies)
If you need deep qualitative insights, look no further than Useberry Interviews. This newly released feature brings moderated user testing directly into your platform ecosystem.
Live user discussions: Schedule, host, and conduct live, face-to-face automated interviews with your participants.
Integrated moderation: Ask follow-up questions in real-time, observe live reactions, and naturally guide users through your designs while Useberry helps you manage scheduling and automated session logging.
Type 3: Upload recordings (Centralized qualitative analysis)
Already have recorded sessions from external sources, user chats, or legacy tests? You don’t have to keep your research scattered. You can create a Project specifically designed to import external media.
Bring your own nedia: Directly upload video recordings of your users into a designated Useberry Project.
Consolidate and analyze: Once uploaded, you can analyze these recordings directly inside the Useberry platform. Seamlessly combine them with your existing studies, include them in your overarching data analysis, review user behaviors, and keep all your qualitative data organized under a single roof.
